Meet your voiceover artist.
Hi, I'm Beverly.
I'm a voice-over artist, a storyteller, and — most days — a work in progress by choice. I'm also the founder of Rising Joy, a space for women reinventing themselves at the crossroads of life. Both of these are true at once, because both come from the same place: I believe stories, told honestly and voiced with heart, have the power to help people feel seen.
I'm in my second chapter now. As a biracial woman who has lived through loss, separation, and the end of a career that once defined me, I know what it feels like to stand at a crossroads without a map. I've rebuilt before. I'm doing it again — this time on my own terms, and this time, bringing other women along with me.
The Voice Behind the Work
Voiceover found me at exactly the right moment — a new chapter where I get to use my voice, literally, to tell stories that matter. I'm building my craft and my demo reel with intention, and I'm especially drawn to narration and documentary work — giving voice to real stories and real people. Helping someone else be seen and heard, through the simple act of voicing their truth, is the work I want to spend this chapter doing.

Rising Joy: Helping Women Find Their Next Chapter
Rising Joy is where my personal story and my life's purpose meet. It's a place for women — especially ethnic and biracial women — who are standing at their own crossroads: after loss, after divorce, after the kids have grown and gone, after a career or identity that no longer fits. I've walked that road. I know the quiet grief of an ending, and I also know that an ending is never the whole story.
Through Rising Joy, I share:
A blog exploring reinvention, identity, and what it really takes to build a new chapter
Voiced stories — narrative audio where my voice-over work and my Rising Joy mission meet
A series of courses, built specifically for ethnic and biracial women navigating reinvention
My message is simple: change isn't about becoming someone new. It's about meeting the woman you've always been — and deciding she's enough to build a life of real joy.
Beyond the Microphone
Home for me is the Colorado mountains, where the air is thin and the perspective is wide. But I'm a woman drawn to water in every form. Give me a raft and a rushing river and I'm fully alive in the thrill of it; give me a quiet shoreline and I'll sit with the sound of the water for hours. And there's nothing quite like being at sea — the horizon stretching out in every direction reminds me, every time, that there is always more possibility ahead.
I'm endlessly drawn to the natural world — moose wandering through meadows, a fox slipping through the trees, and hummingbirds, which became my brand's signature mark because they capture exactly what I want Rising Joy to represent: lightness, resilience, and the ability to move forward even when the path isn't a straight line. And then there's Kona, my constant four-legged companion, rarely more than a few feet away.
None of this — the mountains, the water, the voice work, Rising Joy — happens without the family behind me. My husband has believed in this journey from the start, and in me, long before I fully believed in myself. My two sons are each building lives of their own, and I couldn't be prouder of the people they're becoming. I'm grateful, too, for the woman who has joined our family alongside one of them — I love watching who she is and who she's becoming, right along with the rest of us. Whatever paths each of them choose, I'm cheering them on.
I've learned that life doesn't ask permission before it changes everything. But it does leave room, afterward, to choose what comes next. This is what I want for every woman who finds her way here — to Rising Joy, or to my voice, or simply to this page: the reminder that your next chapter is still yours to write.
Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
